Spider Arts in Schools

Spider Arts in the Community“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Pablo Picasso

Spider Arts know that there is nothing more creative and inspiring than the imagination of a child, so we just love inventing new ways for children to do what comes naturally.

Everyone understands that children learn from ‘doing’, but a creative approach to learning offers so many more benefits including the development of confidence and self-esteem; problem solving skills and team working; improving perseverance and focus; in addition to greater ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally. Self expression is so important for healthy emotional development and as such, underpins academic learning.

At Spider Arts we are passionate about the arts in education and so we are committed to maximising the creative potential of Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) for young learners. We have a great deal of experience developing creative projects for schools. Our artists have been involved in extensive training and research into the arts in schools and understand that children learn differently. By introducing art, drama, music, dance or media into their lessons, we are able to capture their imagination and help them take an active interest in their learning; across the curriculum!

Whether you simply need some help realising an idea for your school, would like us to invent an exciting new project or are interested in getting your pupils involved in painting a mural, we can help!
